The PCL82 triode pentode is a typical audio output and/or frame oscillator and output stage valve.
The double valve enabled the demodulated audio signal to be amplified and applied to the speaker by using the minimum number of components and printed circuit board space.
The triode is on the right and is the full height of the valve. The pentode is positioned the other side of the screen and mounted at right angles to the triode.
The thin glass tube envelope is 20 mm in diameter and excluding the B9A base pins, is 69 mm tall.
References: Data-sheet & 1040. Type PCL82 was first introduced in 1955. See also 1955 adverts.
