The V235A/1k is a Heil tube microwave oscillator valve for use between 2.7 - 3.8 GHz. The output of 0.5 Watt would be used as the local oscillator in a radar receiver. The transmitting magnetron would be a fixed frequency device and the receiver would need to fine tune to the magnetron frequency.
Like the Klystron, the Heil tube is a velocity modulated device designed for co-axial line mounting with an external permanent magnet for beam focussing. The CV2221 is identical.
The 41 mm diameter resonator disc would be the mounting point for the valve. The data-sheet has a diagram.
The evacuation pip on the left and below is the CV Type designation.
The thin glass tube envelope is 19 mm in diameter and, excluding the B7G base pins, is 58 mm tall.
