The VR124 is the designation of an RAF receiving valve. The introduction of the Common Valve designations in 1941 renamed it the CV1124. Electrically the MS/Pen (or MSP4) are the closest commercial types. These were originally on a B5 base as well as the B7, MS/Pen was released in 1933.
The envelope shape matches the Cossor MVSPen and differers from other makers designs.
The RAF up arrow is the only marking on the reverse. Note the drain wire connecting the zinc paint coating to the base.
The classic envelope is 45 mm in diameter and, excluding the B7 base pins, is 107 mm tall.
