The exhibit is a Mullard Pen4VA on a B7 base cap. The Pen4VA was, in 1933, the Mullard answer to the landmark Mazda AC/Pen of 1930 for audio output within AC mains sets.
The dome carries the identification on a coating of zinc loaded paint. The classic envelope is 49 mm in diameter and, excluding the B7 base pins, is 113 mm tall.References: Data-sheet, 4024 & 1043. Type Pen4VA was first introduced in 1933. See also 1933 adverts. |
