The NC16 is the pre-CV name for the CV964. NC indicates a UK Navy cathode ray tube. The AP53162 is the Admiralty pattern (specification) number.
This CRT is electrostatically deflected and has a green trace. The prototype was the VCRX22 that is similar to the VCR139A but with better focus.
The screen diameter i 69 mm. The final anode is the colloidal graphite coating inside the flared section of the envelope.
The base pins do not look heavily used.
The majority of the gun is obscured. The X plates are on the left with the Y plates at right angles to them and closer to the gun. Thus the Y plates are more sensitive.
The end window envelope is 40 mm in diameter and, excluding the B12B base pins, is 180 mm tall.
