The CV1432 is a gas filled photocell based on the commercial GS26.

The screw top cap and wide plastic cap was essentially replaced by the mid 1930s with the top-hat style of top cap.

The internal black paint covers all areas except the receiving window.

The coated cathode is a single plate folded in the centre. The anode is a wire rectangle mounted in front of the cathode.

The wide glass tube envelope is 35 mm in diameter and, excluding the B4 base pins, is 102 mm tall.
