The CV4515 ( commercially the K337) is an X-Band reflex klystron oscillator operating between 9 and 10 GHz. The output for a low power transmitter or radar local oscillator is 45 mW. Electrically the tuning range is 24 MHz. The mechanical tuning screw can be seen in the main image.
The KB/Q identifies this valve as being made to specification K1001 or K1006, the B denotes qualification by a UK authority and the Q identifies the maker as English Electric Valve Co., Chelmsford.
The output from the resonant cavity is via a WG16 flange (41 mm square).
The front of the WG flange. The reduce section is to allow matching to the waveguide.
The base connects are via lugs for direct soldering into circuit.
The tuning screw and reflector lead - moulded into the end plate.
The wide metal tube envelope is 26 mm in diameter and, excluding the base pins, is 90 mm tall.
