The CV303 (commercially the EF22) is an all glass construction amplifier pentode. In this valve the whole envelope is encased in a screening aluminium can.The pentode is described as of variable μ. That is that the characteristic curve is such that different amplifications are possible by varying the grid bias point. Mullard describe the EF22 as primarily intended for use in DC/AC mains operated equipment in the role of RF or IF amplifier.The KB/A identifies this valve as being made to specification K1001 or K1006, the B denotes qualification by a UK authority and the A identifies the maker as Mullard, Blackburn, pre Jan 1951.
The plain can with the maker's identification stamped into it.The wide glass tube envelope is 29 mm diameter and excluding the B8B base pins is 63 mm tall.References: Data-sheet & 1040. |
