The CV4039 is the M8096/6062 in UK Government specification. Commercially the M8096 is the special quality version of Mullard's QV03-12 transmitting valve designed for vibration resistance. This provides a rugged valve for use in situations where vibration may be encountered. In practice this would have found service in portable military transceivers.
The valve is designed to operate at HF (up to 30 MHz) at full power but may be used at a maximum at up to 175 MHz. In the latter case the valve would probably be employed as a frequency multiplier rather than an output valve.
The commercial 6062 designation.
The anode covers all internal electrodes.
The thin glass tube envelope is 20 mm in diameter and, excluding the B9A base pins, is 58 mm tall.
