The QUAD 1 from The Acoustical Manufacturing Company.
The Acoustical Manufacturing Company was formed in 1936 by Peter Walker. His career had started with EMI and GEC. His company was originally called S P Fidelity Sound Systems but was soon changed. The Acoustical Manufacturing company initially produced public address systems and amplifiers.
In 1951 the QUAD 1 was introduced. The acronym stands for Quality Unit Amplified Domestic. The QUAD 1 was a mono amplifier and the circuit is presented below.
