The EF36 is receiving pentode. Philips specify this device as for general purpose voltage amplification and for use in phase inverters etc.The unusual feature of this valve is the Italian Finance Ministry label. This one has the date stamp of Mar 5, 1952. On exhibit E1R/N the sticker has a 1941 date stamp showing that the Italians were using Philips valves during the war.Another example with a 1948 date stamp.The classic envelope is 31 mm in diameter and, excluding the IO base pins, is 89 mm tall.References: Data-sheet, 1040 & 1043.
