The EC53 is an UHF triode that can operate as an oscillator at up to 600 Mhz and was previously known as the RL18.
In side view the grid wires are visible. The anode is formed from two pieces pressed together.
The heater can be seen entering the oxide coated cathode. Also visible are the mica supports.
The thin glass tube envelope is 15 mm in diameter, and excluding the B3G base pins is 37.5 mm tall. Overall the length is 52 mm.
