The VT-114 (5T4) rectifier is described by RCA as a high voltage full wave rectifier. It would be used for all types of medium power equipment.
The VT-114 was probably introduced in the mid 1930's as part of the metal valve range.
The printed identification on the painted steel envelope.
The wide metal tube envelope is 30 mm in diameter and, excluding the IO base pins, is 91 mm tall.
References: Data-sheet, 1043 & 3002. Type VT-114 was first introduced in 1937.
