The CV87 klystron, with its IO base, is clearly seen within its mounting shell and is designed to operate at X-band or 3 cm. The output is 100 mW and the voltage across the tube is 1,600 V. The CV129 was the successor.
The reflector connects to the top cap of the glass envelope. The tuning screw is at the top of the housing furthest away from the IO base. It can be seen that as the cylindrical plate is moved by the action of the screw the linkages pass the movement into the centre resonator area.
The thin glass tube envelope is 33 mm in diameter and, excluding the IO base pins, is 200 mm tall.
Reference: 3002. Type CV87 was first introduced in 1942. See also 1942 adverts.
