The 6SN7W is an American glass tubular version of the mid 1930s metal double triode valve.
The W designation is a special quality version of the GT variant designed to withstand severe vibration and shock in use.
The construction uses a glass pinch and two separate electrode structures are visible through the envelope.
The wide glass tube envelope is 28 mm in diameter and excluding the IO base pin length, stands 68 mm high.
