The CV5847 is directly equivalent to the QQV07-50 from Mullard. It is a transmitting double beam tetrode and was introduced in 1961. Primarily designed for push pull amplification in the VHF frequency range at powers up to 100 W. In class C service the peak cathode current was given as 585 mA, the maximum average current being 130 mA.
The centre bright structure is the common beam plate. The screen grid is also common to both sections. Each control grid is single sided - wound conventionally and then one side cut off.
Each anode has a folded extra section to increase the anode dissipation to 25 Watts.
The edges of the screen grid can be seen to the left of the beam plate.
Here the screen grid can be seen as dark lines with bright reflections from the control grid. Both are wound to the same pitch.
The wide glass tube envelope is 44 mm in diameter and, excluding the B7A base pins, is 90 mm tall.
