The EBC90 is an amplifier triode with double diodes sharing the same cathode and was designed for use in superhet receivers. The HBC90 is the same valve but with a 12.6 V 0.15 A heater.
The design is instantly recognisable from the bright diode anode supports either side of the dark triode.
The thin sheet of the diode anodes is formed with a depressed centre to add rigidity. Under the top mica can be seen the copper grid support of the control grid together with the winding pitch.
The thin glass tube envelope is 17 mm in diameter and, excluding the B7G base pins, is 46 mm tall.
