The LP2 battery triode was a popular design and very similar valves were produced by several companies. As an audio output valve it produced 0.18 Watts. The 2.0 V filament was designed to be supplied from a single lead-acid accumulator.
The electrodes in this exhibit are mounted at an angle to the vertical making the top of the anode visible.
The Marconi brand label.
The Type designation is etched into the dome of the envelope. The double image is caused by a reflection from the inner surface of the glass as well as the front surface.
A close view of the construction.
The balloon envelope is 44 mm in diameter and, excluding the B4 base pins, is 90 mm tall.
