The CV4036 is a high performance single rectifier with flying leads for direct wiring onto circuit. The prototype was the CV2235. These valves are special quality versions of the commercial EY84. With an anode voltage of 625 Volts a full wave rectifier is easier with two valves rather than a pair of valves in a single envelope.
The rated reservoir capacitor is 24 µF and to limit surges the circuit series resistance needs to be at least 250 Ω.
The GEC brand label.
There are six flanges around the central cathode for maximum surface area. The two parts of the heater have been twisted together.
The thin glass tube envelope is 21 mm in diameter and excluding the B9A base pins the valve stands 72 mm high.
