The RAF transmitting VT501A was later renamed the CV1002. It is a small beam tetrode RF power valve and a variant of the VT501. The RAF stores code on the envelope is 10E/784.
The oval anode is blackened to radiate efficiently. The bright beam plate is clearly visible as are the two inner grids.
A closer view of the anode showing the method of fixing to the supports.
The classic envelope is 28 mm in diameter and, excluding the IO base pins, is 85 mm tall.
