The X17 is a miniature heptode frequency changer and was designed for dry battery operation.Miniature valves using B7G bases was a post war development in the UK following the influence on the industry of American designs and technology.The thin glass tube envelope is 18 mm in diameter and, excluding the B7G base pins, is 46 mm tall.References: Data-sheet & 3002.
