W42

The W42 is a vari-μ pentode. The CV1183 specification was based on the W42 and pre CV the valve was known in the UK Navy as the NR61.
The top cap connection to the control grid has been lost. The control grid has been wound on copper supports.
No additional heat sinking fins are added to the tops of the control grid supports.
The classic envelope is 41 mm in diameter and, excluding the B7 base pins, is 103 mm tall.
