The 8018, from RCA looks identical to the classic 807 but while the data for the 807 is easy to find the 8018 is obscure. The 8018 was an 807 with slight variation to fit the UK Government specification for the VT60. The corresponding CV reference gives the maximum operating frequency as 120 MHz - well above the 60 MHz rating for the 807 and that me the only difference.
After 1945 it is believed that many 8018's were re-labelled as 807.
The classic elliptical lower screen that is characteristic of the 807.
The base cap is marked VT60 and also the RAF stores code of 10E/11441. VT60 is fitted with a ceramic base that is less susceptible to moisture reducing insulation resistance.
The classic envelope is 51 mm in diameter, and excluding the UX5 base pins is 129 mm tall.
