The 12AU7A was designed as a pair of general purpose voltage amplifier triodes. Two independent valves exist within the envelope.
The anode is formed into a rectangular shell with heat radiating side wings.
The thin glass tube envelope is 20 mm in diameter and, excluding the B9A base pins, is 47 mm tall.
Reference: Datasheet. Type 12AU7A was first introduced in 1956.
