The W727 is a variable μ pentode for use at HF. Most often as an IF amplifier in superhet receivers. This GEC exhibit is also marked with the alternative Type designation of 6BA6. The 1954 data-sheet states that the W727 is the commercial equivalent of CV454.

The thin glass tube envelope is 18 mm in diameter and excluding the B7G base pins, is 47 mm long.
