This exhibit is a 6146A transmitting beam tetrode from Sylvania. The 6146A is interchangeable with the 6146 and for mobile transmitters has an ability to function well at reduced heater voltage. The final version was the 6146B with a very wide range of acceptable heater voltages.
The Sylvania logo. The tops of the grid and cathode connections are shielded by a bright rectangular box above the top mica sheet.
The wide glass tube envelope is 38 mm in diameter and excluding the IO base pins, the valve is 82 mm.
