The EF732 is a special quality wide band HF amplifier pentode. The valve has a sharp cut-off characteristic. This pentode uses lead out wires to the B8D/F base layout for direct soldering into circuit as the valve was considered to be as reliable as the rest of the components used in the design.![](../pics/aby0094a.jpg)
The suppressor grid with the wide spaced winding is clear to see. The screen grid is of a much smaller pitch that seems to match the pitch of the control grid. However, the control grid is difficult to see even under a glass. It shows the skill and dexterity of the workers who assembled this tiny valve. The thin glass tube envelope is 10 mm in diameter and, excluding the 8 leadout wires is 34 mm tall.References: Data-sheet & 3002. Type EF732 was first introduced in 1957. See also 1957 adverts. |
