The YD2 from Triotron is described as a high slope power valve. This translates to a battery audio output valve.
The electrodes are mounted horizontally above the pinch. The grid wire is just visible at the top of the anode.
The valve only has identification on the dome.
The balloon envelope is 44 mm in diameter, and excluding the B4 base pins is 86 mm tall.
Reference: Data-sheet Data & 1043. Type YD2 was first introduced in 1930. See also 1930 adverts.
