The CV1472 is a gas filled photocell and the prototype was the short version CMG25. The commercial Type CMG25 is identical to the CV version as both designations appear on the glass.
The photo cathode is caesium on silver and the tested working voltage is 90 Volts.
The anode is a wire rectangle. The coated cathode is a plate folded at 90 °.
In this image the anode wire has been displaced to the right - knocked in storage?
A clear view of the cathode shape. The commercial identification and Made in England is etched into the glass.
The wide glass tube envelope is 25 mm in diameter and, excluding the B4 base pins, is 74 mm tall.
