The 8613 is a hydrogen thyratron with an internal reservoir of gas. It was used for both Radar and industrial purposes.
The peak current that can be switched is 500 A giving a maximum pulse energy of 4 mW.
The serial number on the anode connection. The ceramic would have been pure white when new.
The recessed anode connection. The whole tube would need to be forced air cooled.
The four base pins set in ceramic. The locating pip indicates that the base was of the bayonet locking type.
The wide ceramic tube envelope is 51 mm in diameter and, excluding the base pins, is 156 mm tall.
