The CV1186 is an audio output valve. The prototypes were the KT63 and the 6F6G. Before the CV register the service designations were the ARP17 and the NR85.
This exhibit is marked 6F6G on the envelope and overprinted on the base cap with NR85 and CV1186.
The 6F6G on the envelope with the control grid heat sink fins visible at the top.
A closer view of the top mica components. The supports of the three wire grids can be seen. Looking into the valve with a glass the three wire grids can be glimpsed but not imaged.
The classic envelope is 44 mm in diameter and, excluding the IO base pins, is 102 mm tall.
