The CV4063 is a special quality audio output valve that dates from 1962. The CV4063 was based on the CV136 and was also known as the 6516.
For self bias the cathode resistor should be 740 Ω. The anode load is 16,000 Ω. An output of 1.4 Watts is possible in a single ended configuration. Distortion figures are 10%. The performance is equal to the commercial EL91.
The CV4063 is also specified as an HF pentode with useful gain into the low VHF range.
The KB/D identifies this valve as being made to specification K1001 or K1006, the B denotes qualification by a UK authority and the D identifies the maker as Mullard Radio Valve Co., Mitcham.
