The CV592 (commercial 6SJ7GT) is a sharp cut-off pentode. The design use was as a high gain amplifier or as a biased detector.

The screening hides the inner structure.

At the top the three grid supports and the round cathode can be seen.

The wide glass tube envelope is 28 mm in diameter and excluding the IO base pins, is 71 mm tall.
