The CV2017 is a miniature HF pentode - the CV2209 but fitted with tapes welded to the pins. Typical operating conditions are found in the attached data-sheet.
The CV2209 prototype was the Mazda designed CV1116 that was fitted with an MO base cap.
The KB/E identifies this valve as being made to specification K1001 or K1006, the B denotes qualification by a UK authority and the E identifies the maker as Thorn-AEI, Brimsdown.
The CV2209 identification shows the original manufactured valve, the CV2017 on the other side is a later overprint after the tapes have been added.
The Paxolin circle with tapes attached to the original pins. Note the central tube with an eighth tape.
Through the inner coating can be seen the copper control grid supports with heat radiating fin attached. The suppressor grid is close wound and this could be used as a second control element - less sensitive than g1.
The thin glass tube envelope is 18 mm diameter and excluding the B7G base pins, is 46 mm tall.
