The EF734 is a special quality high slope RF amplifier pentode.
This pentode uses lead out wires to the B8D/F base layout for direct soldering into circuit as the valve was considered to be as reliable as the rest of the components used in the design.
To maximise the service life the valve should be held in a metal clip heat-sink.
This exhibit is unused with the leads at full length. This is the original box.
Thanks to Mark Mallison for sending the images.
The thin glass tube envelope is  mm in diameter and, excluding the 8B8D/F wires is  mm tall.
Reference: Data-sheet. Type EF734 was first introduced in 1958. See also 1958 adverts.
