The DK96 frequency changer was designed for broadcast radio receivers. This Ferranti example was imported and carries the word Foreign on the envelope.The dry battery valve portable radio was killed stone dead by the transistor radio in the mid 1960s.
Little internal detail is visible except for a glimpse of the outer wire grid..The thin glass tube envelope is 18 mm in diameter and, excluding the B7G base pins, is 47 mm tall.References: Data-sheet & 1040. Type DK96 was first introduced in 1953. See also 1953 adverts. |
