The VT-86A (commercially the 6K7G) is a screened pentode and was designed for intermediate frequency amplifiers in superhet receivers. It is high impedance type allowing for a high Q in the tuned anode circuit.
See also 6K7 metal envelope version and 6K7GT glass tubular type.
The Tung-Sol name is on the base cap.
The control grid connects to the top cap and so the lower ends of the supports only just penetrate the lower mica. The screen grid and suppressor grid connections can be seen as can the anode connection.
The top screen and copper control grid supports and connection.
The classic envelope is 38 mm in diameter and, excluding the IO base pins the valve is 96 mm tall.
References: Data-sheet, 1040 & 1043. Type VT-86A was first introduced in 1936. See also 1936 adverts.
