The CV235 is a directly heated half wave high voltage vacuum rectifier. The prototype was the U23.
When used as a pair for full wave rectification with a choke input filter the maximum DC output current is 500 mA.
The ellipse on the glass with the Type designation within is indicative of M-OV.
The Z identifies the maker as MO Valve Company, Hammersmith confirming what the ellipse indicated.
The last test results and the remains of the UK Government up arrow etc.
The anode has side flanges for both extra heat dissipation and to provide fixing points.
The top mica has two tension springs. The hook below the spring holds the oxide coated filament ribbon.
The wide glass tube envelope is 51 mm in diameter and, excluding the B4 base pins, is 168 mm tall.
