The CV178 is a triode oscillator with an anode dissipation of 50 Watts continuous and 150 Watts for short periods. The operating wavelength for CW operation is 50 cm but for pulse operation the wavelength can be as low as 25 cm. A pair can generate 15 Watts RF. The prototype was the E1458.
