The 6SH7 type was designed for wideband RF and IF amplification and has a relatively high gm value to ensure a good gain-bandwidth product.The 12SH7 differs only in heater requirement and was made for vehicle based equipment. The US Government used these valves and their specification was as Type VT-288. VT being Vacuum Tube.
