The PCC89 is a high gain, Band III VHF, frame grid double triode for domestic television receivers. When compared to our other PCC89 small changes in design can be seen, suggesting at least two production lines were used possibly in separate factories.
Here the anode construction can be seen. The working face is at the base of the depression with the rest of the metal acting to dissipate the heat generated.
The bright metal is the electrostatic screen between the triode section to prevent interference between sections.
The second anode has the same construction as the first. The thin glass tube envelope is 20 mm in diameter, and excluding the B9A base pins, is 49 mm tall.References: Data-sheet & 1040. Type PCC89 was first introduced in 1959. See also 1959 adverts. |
