This 12E1 exhibit is in mint condition and arrived in its original box. We also have a rugged version 12E1R.
Through the holes in the side edge of the anode can be seen the aligned grids. This alignment will reduce the screen grid current and also valve dissipation. The grids are straight across the broad face of the anode and curved at the ends where they are held in vertical notched rods.
The 12E1 is a power output valve for use as a series pass valve in stabilised power supplies. The heavy demands placed on valves used as control elements in regulator circuits makes it vital that the ratings are not exceeded.
The classic envelope is 52 mm in diameter and, excluding the IO base pins, is 130 mm tall.
