The 35Z4GT is a half wave rectifier and was designed for monochrome television use. This rectifier type was made by several manufacturers and this exhibit is from Brimar.
The 35Z4GT would feed a 40 µF reservoir capacitor through an effective series resistance of 100 Ohms.

The anode is essentially an active central cylinder with side cooling fins.
The wide glass tube envelope is 29 mm in diameter and, excluding the IO base pins, is 71 mm tall.
