The 6BR8A was designed for VHF TV tuners. The triode being the local oscillator and the pentode (made as a beam tetrode) acting as the mixer to IF.
The bright plate seen within the dark anode is the beam plate. The two wire grids are wound on copper supports.
The small triode is on the left. The grid is wound on copper supports.
The thin glass tube envelope is 20 mm in diameter, and excluding the B9A base pins is 47 mm tall.
