The 6FV8A was designed for VHF TV tuners. The triode being the local oscillator and the pentode (made as a beam tetrode) acting as the mixer to IF.
Etched into the glass are two Type designations the 6FV8A and also 6BR8A the latter having slightly different characteristics when first relaesed.
The triode anode face view. The grid is wound on copper supports.
The thin glass tube envelope is 20 mm in diameter, and excluding the B9A base pins is 47 mm tall.
