The EC70 is a sub miniature VHF/UHF amplifier triode that was introduced in 1950 as part of the then new miniature valve series. It was designed as an oscillator for use at up to 500 MHz.
The blackened anode. The control grid is wound on copper support rods and the winding can be glimpsed through the hole in the end wall of the anode..
The thin glass tube envelope is 10 mm in diameter, and excluding the B8D base wires is 37 mm tall.
