The 6L5 is a general purpose triode designed for use as an oscillator, detector or voltage amplifier. The special characteristic is the low heater consumption. American production is normally of the 6L5G glass enveloped type with a classic or shouldered envelope.
The Maker name Visseaux Radio stamped into the aluminium shield. Inside the envelope will be glass.

The wide metal tube envelope is 31 mm in diameter and, excluding the IO base pins, is 80 mm tall.
