The RX-233A is an argon filled thyratron. The design is of a high voltage and low current switch and with characteristics that remain essentially across a wide temperature range.
The anode disc is held by the top cap and is separate from the rest of the electrode assembly that is retained by the pinch.
The top mica is an interference fit to the glass tube envelope. The top of the cathode/grid cylinder is an annular mica disc.
The wide glass tube envelope is 29 mm in diameter, and excluding the IO base pins is 86 mm tall.
