The CV1763 is a miniature grounded grid triode with a 2.5 Watt anode dissipation for operation into the UHF at 550 MHz. The prototype was the 6J4.
The anode is formed from two flat based U channels held together with the bright straps. The control grid is wound on thick support rods so that the natural gap is the correct spacing either side of the cathode. The grid supports are welded to the top and bottom screens effectively forming a frame grid.
Here the double sided construction is more clearly seen. The grid pitch is small.
The thin glass tube envelope is 18 mm in diameter and, excluding the B7G base pins, is 45 mm tall.
