The Navy Receiving pentode specification NR81 was renamed in 1941 the CV1941.
The valve is a vari-μ RF pentode mainly used as an IF amplifier in superhet receivers. The prototype was the 6K7G.
This exhibit has both the CV1941 and the older NR81 designations.
The classic envelope is 37 mm in diameter and, excluding the IO base pins, is 95 mm tall.
